Ernie Craft
The only remaining original member of the 1972 version of the Sounds of Grass, Ernie has been a major force in keeping this band popular thru the years. A powerful tenor singer and guitar player, Ernie started playing in his Fathers band while still a youngster. Since that time he has traveled and performed up and down the east coast. Ask anyone who’s ever spent any time with Ernie and they will all tell you the same thing. He’s not bashful

David Smith
Multi-talented is the best description for David. Prior to joining the “Sounds” he was playing banjo with the popular Bluegrass-Gospel band Carolina Sonshine.  When the guitar job came open in the Sounds of Grass everyone knew he would be the perfect pick. Great guitar player and wonderful singer David’s baritone harmony is second to none.  David is now handling the banjo picking for the band and doing a great job!

Rocky Springs
Resonator (Dobro) guitar player and singer Rocky Springs has been with the “Sounds” since December of 1997. Prior to that time Rocky worked with various bands and also had his own bluegrass radio show on WKSY in Florence S.C. Also known for his MC work, Rocky has been the voice of Bluegrass on the Waccamaw for the past several years and many other bluegrass festivals across the region.

Steve Treadaway
Steve played bass in several bands with his brother in Baltimore.  Upon moving to South Carolina Steve began to introduce his talents by becoming involved in Rivertown Bluegrass Society where he served several years on the Board.  He has played bass and sung with several  bluegrass groups including Sawgrass, Crystal River and the Morris Brothers.
